OUR PROJECTS

PROJECTS OF THE CULTURAL TOURISM PROGRAMME

Because it is a community based organization most of the profit obtained are taken to different projects of which the whole village has a share. However it is the village authority which decides what to do with the money collected from this type of tourism.

Some of our projects include the following listed

SCHOOLS

The cultural tourism in the village has several schools linked to it and it is giving support to these schools in the village. The cultural tourism itself established a school whereby it was serving parents who are living far away from the village center where most schools are located and this school is completely sponsored by Cultural tourism programme in Mto wa Mbu, ranging from the teachers salary, stationeries e.t.c However the school is so far a kindergarten school but in the near future we hope it will move to a stage of being a primary school in the area. It is found in one of the villages in Mto wa Mbu and this village is called MIGOMBANI. We also have a school in Maasai land we sponsor called BARAKA primary school...

WATER PROJECTS

The village if Mto wa Mbu is very luck because it is located in an are rich of natural springs of water. In the village there about four main rivers flowing throughout the year and they are used in a great deal in the farm, again there quite plenty of underground streams flowing in he village. The cultural tourism programme in the village has been supporting the community in this field. We have currently inserted a new water pipe from the money we collected, before there was a small water pipe which measured three inches but we have now replaced by a six inches water pipe, this has led to a very sufficient pressure whereby water is plenty throughout the day. Maasai people were also facing a problem of clean water but now they have it solved...

ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS

Apart from its daily activities the cultural tourism has decided to participate in environmental conservation campaigns, as it is one of the objectives of S.N.V. the cultural tourism has established environmental conservation clubs in schools such as THE ROOTS AND SHOOTS CLUB of the Jane Goodall Institute Tanzania. It is training children at school to know what the significance of having our environment conserved is. However the cultural tourism organizes trips to Lake Manyara National Park together with the lake Manyara authority...

CHILDREN CENTERSTREET

In the village there is a problem of street children who comes from different parts of the village and other neighboring villages. The cultural tourism programme in Mto wa Mbu has decided to establish a center where they will be accommodated and trained on various duties. We have decided to name the project as “TWIGA FOUNDATION” and currently we are looking donors for the project and they are donating to the project.

The cultural tourism have conducted a thorough research to see the sources of street children in the village and found out the following

The observation showed that children are moving in the village in search of the above items as a result of the following
